SpeakCreole ("we", "our", "us") is a web application (PWA) that helps you learn Haitian Creole through audio-first phrases. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

2. Information We Collect

• Anonymous account: we create an anonymous account so your progress and preferences (learned phrases, language, favorites) can be saved.
• App preferences: your chosen interface language and appearance (light/dark) are stored locally in your browser.
• Usage data: basic technical logs (errors, page loads) may be collected to keep the app running smoothly. We do not sell this data.

We do not ask for your name, email, phone number, precise location, or payment information.

3. How We Use Information

• To save your learning progress across sessions and devices where signed in.
• To display translations in your preferred language.
• To improve app reliability and content quality.

4. Cookies & Local Storage

We use browser local storage to remember your language, theme, and session. We do not use advertising trackers.

5. Third-Party Services

We rely on Supabase to host our database, storage (audio files), and authentication. Audio files are served over public URLs. Feedback you submit is processed by our feedback provider.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

Progress data is retained while your anonymous account is active. You can sign out at any time, which removes the local session. To request full deletion of your anonymous data, contact us via the feedback link.

7. Children

SpeakCreole is a language-learning tool suitable for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Security

Row-Level Security is enabled in our database so that your progress rows are only accessible under your session. No system is 100% secure; we work to protect your data using industry-standard practices.

9. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
